  • Olean grad using good looks to make a name, money for herself

Someone in the area is exhibitingmodel” behavior.
Tiffany George, a 2007 Olean High School graduate, has been getting her feet wet as a model, striking a pose for the last two years.
Near the end of her senior year in school the soon-to-be 20-year-old began her modeling career as a ring girl for Salamanca’s Knockout Factory.
“It’s just something that sort of happened. I just think it’s fun,” Ms. George said of why she models. “I’m very energetic. It’s fun.”
While her modeling career is still young, Ms. George isn’t without some accolades.
She’s been shooting portfolio shots for photographers, was Miss March in a calendar for the Fox radio station in Jamestown, Miss December for Renek Gaszewski's Studio, poses for RG4M.com, and even made the cover of May’s Rod and Piston magazine.
A January photo shoot had her posing in a Las Vegas desert and another had her on a beach in Daytona.
Photo shoots typically involve many pictures being taken and several outfit changes she said, and they usually last between 3 to 4 hours.
Ms. George said she makes around $150 per shoot, but isn’t ready to make a career out of modeling. It’s something she does for fun, she said.
“I’d probably never rely on it,” she said. “It’s not really consistent. If anything ever happened, I couldn’t rely on that for income.”
The Olean native turned down a two-year modeling contract worth several thousands of dollars because she didn’t want to be tied down for that long.
“I’d rather do other things,” she said.
Other things include going to school in the fall for nursing.
Getting into a skimpy swimsuit is as far as she’ll go for a photo shoot.
“If I had to diet or anything, I wouldn’t do it,” she said. “I wouldn’t change anything about myself just for modeling. I turned nude photo shoots down. I don’t want any nude photos. It’s just not for me.”
Ms. George continues to work as a ring girl for the Knockout Factory and said she’ll continue to do some modeling while she studies to become a nurse.
She isn’t sure how long she’ll continue modeling>, but she began her own Web site, models.gaszewski.com, to help her career.
